UofL hires former interim education commissioner

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. 鈥 The University of Louisville today announced that Kevin Noland will join the university鈥檚 College of 糖心视频 and Human Development as Special Assistant to the Dean on Oct. 1.

    Noland was formerly Kentucky鈥檚 Interim 糖心视频 Commissioner and an ex-officio member of the Council on Postsecondary 糖心视频. He helped draft the Kentucky 糖心视频 Reform Act of 1990 and has served as deputy commissioner and general counsel with the Kentucky Department of 糖心视频.

    鈥淜evin will focus on building a strong and seamless infrastructure for education in Kentucky from K-12 through college,鈥 said Interim Dean Blake Haselton. 鈥淗e has extensive experience working with the legislative and executive branches of state government as well as with local school districts.鈥

    Haselton said Noland will help lead and support efforts to implement Senate Bill 1, which was passed earlier this year by the Kentucky General Assembly and calls for numerous changes in educational standards, assessment and accountability.

    Noland holds a bachelor of arts and a juris doctorate from the University of Kentucky.
