Medical students pound the pavement for pediatric patients
For the past seven years, UofL medical students have run in the Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon or Marathon in honor of patients with cancer and blood disorders in the university’s pediatric hematology/oncology division. This year’s runners presented their race medals to their young buddies in a special ceremony following the races on April 25 in the lobby of the Kosair Charities Clinical & Translational Research Building.
More than half of winter grads plan to walk Dec. 13
More than 1,500 students are expected to graduate from the University of Louisville this semester, and 875 of those graduates plan to participate in the Dec. 13 winter commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. in Freedom Hall, Kentucky Exposition Center.

Close to 10,000 people participated in the 1964 March on Frankfort with Martin Luther King, Jr. Former state senator Georgia Davis Powers was there. So was baseball great Jackie Robinson. And among them were two photographers, University of Louisville professor Robert Doherty and photojournalist James N. Keen.
